Dr. Ashley has always known he wanted to follow a career path in the medical field. He has been a family physician since 2009. He earned his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, SC. After residency, he completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine. He is board certified in family medicine and primary care sports medicine. He practiced medicine in Sumter, SC from 2009 until 2022 when joined Prisma Health and moved to the upstate with his wife and three children.
Dr. Ashley chose family medicine because of the wide variety of medical conditions which it allows him to diagnose and manage across all stages of life. The specialty also allows him to get to know his patients quite well, which he enjoys. His style of practice is to educate his patients on their medical conditions and treatment options to allow for shared decision making. He also is a strong believer in the value of prevention through a healthy lifestyle.
