Peter Tilkemeier, MD

Dr. Peter Tilkemeier is chair of the Department of Medicine at Prisma Health–Upstate. Before joining the organization in 2015, Dr. Tilkemeier worked at Brown University as a cardiologist and administrative leader for more than 25 years.
Dr. Tilkemeier is a professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and the Clemson University School of Health Research. He serves as chair of the Quality Care and Delivery committee for Prisma Health Upstate Network and is a member of the network and clinical strategy councils for Prisma Health.
He attended medical school at Northwestern University and earned a master of medical management degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. Dr. Tilkemeier has numerous publications and has given both national and international presentations on quality of care.

Recently named one of Greenville Business Magazine’s 50 Most Influential, Dr. Marjorie Jenkins is already delivering on her reputation as a transformational leader in medical education and healthcare delivery.
Prior to joining the UofSC School of Medicine Greenville, she served as professor and associate dean at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she founded the Laura Bush Institute, a research and health education institute spanning across six campuses. Dr. Jenkins served as director of scientific and research programs for the FDA Office of Women’s Health. In addition to her medical degree, she holds a degree in chemical engineering and a master of education in the health professions.
Dr. Jenkins has been honored through numerous awards such as the American Medical Women’s Association Elizabeth Blackwell Award and the Johns Hopkins MEdHP Distinguished Alumni Award. She has provided expert input to media such as Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, TODAY and 60 Minutes and is a sought-after speaker, sharing her expertise in health and sex- and gender-based medicine.
